Brioso comes from some of the most famous and prestigious bloodlines known in the world today. These bloodlines can be seen as an influence in some of today's top performance horses in such disciplines as jumping, western pleasure, bullfighting, and of course dressage. Such bloodlines as ORTIGEO - COUDELARIA NACIONAL - MOTA - COIMBRA - D'ANDRADE are all in Brioso's lineage.

   

Brioso has not only proven his abilities in the dressage ring but also in the discipline of eventing:Brioso

  • In 1997 Brioso was high points Medium 3 dressage champion at Palgrave.

  • In 1998 and 1999 Brioso was Medium 4 high points dressage champion at Palgrave.

  • In 2000 Brioso, and his owner Genevieve Elliott, began competing at the Prix St. George level under the very educated and experienced eye of Level III Judge & Coach Gary Vander Ploeg, receiving scores consistently in the 60's.

  • Also in 2000 Brioso, for a change to his repertoire, competed in Training Level Eventing with Lindsay Mahon. At Dreamcrest, he tied for 1st after dressage, and going clear both in stadium and in cross-country, finishing 8th out of 24 participants in his division. He also competed at Checkmate and was 1st after dressage, was clear again in stadium and on the cross-country course, finishing 11th out of 34 participants in his division.

  • In 2001 Brioso, still under the tutelage of Genevieve Elliott and her coach Gary Vander Ploeg, competed at Prix St. George & Intermediare I again receiving consistent 60% scores.

  • In 2001 he was also a member of the Inter-mural team at the Tournament of Champions, with his team placing 3rd.

  • In 2002 Brioso continued to climb the competition ladder and moved up to compete at the Grand Prix level and received scores in the 60's.

He also participated in numerous clinics from 2000-2003 with such prestigious names as: Wolfgang H. Michaelis, Stephan Clarke, Dieter Schuele, Albrecht Heidemann, Libby McMullen and many more who all had many nice things to say about him and specifically praised him on his intelligence, talent and heart.

In 2004 Brioso was retired to being a schoolmaster helping to teach eager students the finesse and the higher movements of dressage, which he still does to this day.
